What is Stomach Cancer
Stomach cancer is a malignant tumor growing from epithelial cells of the (inner) stomach mucosa. The tumor can arise in various parts of the stomach: in the top part, where it connects with the esophagus, in the main part (body) of the stomach, or in the lower one, where the stomach joins to the intestine.
Men’s, as well as women’s risk to fall ill with stomach cancer increases after 50 years of age, but this probability of the rougher sex representatives is double higher. At present, it is proved that the cancer does not almost arise in a completely healthy stomach. The so- called precancerous state precedes it: the change of properties of cells veneering the stomach.
