What is Ovarian Cancer
Ovarian cancer is a malignant tumor damaging ovaries. It can be a primary one, when the main focus is located in ovary tissues, and a secondary (metastatic) one with a primary focus in almost any part of the body. Carcinoma (70 % of all malignant tumors of an ovary), gem cell and stromal tumors of the genital tract, as well as rarer variants belong to the primary lesions. Metastatic lesions of an ovary are found rather often: in case of endometrium tumors, breast cancer, large intestine, stomach and cervical cancers.
